The circle of green is dedicated to providing the consumer easy identification of earth friendly, natural products ,specifically those that do not contain harmful chemicals and ingredients. In order to gualify, a company must document and attest that their product does not contain certain ingredients or chemicals that have been found harmful to the environoment and/ or humans as well as that their containers are recyclable. These are listed below and will be amended periodically when/if other ingredients or chemicals are found or determined to fit these same categories.
This list is based largely on the report on carcinogens prepared by the National Toxicology Program of the Department of Health and Human Services of the National Insitute of Health, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and the California Environmental Protection Agency. This list is by no means inclusive but should give the consumer some assurance that if the product bears the circle of green seal/certification, it can be judged generally safe.

Circle of green does not endorse any of the products that carry our seal, but only allows the consumer to readily identify products that do meet certain specific criteria,i.e. exclusion in their products of ingredients judged harmful.
The second and equally important criteria that products must meet to qualify for certification is that packaging must be kept to a minimum and must be either preferably bio-degreadable or recyclable. Packaging/containers must be Corn resin based (PLA,PHA) or within the Category 1-5 recyclable. Assistance in achieving this requirement is provided upon request and links to companies that provide such packaging materials is present elsewhere on our site.
We hope you the consumer, will give preference to products that bear the Circle of Green seal. We trust that all companies will adhere to our quidelines and so help us all live healthier, and so longer, lives including mother Earth and even enhance our environment rather than despoiling it!
The Circle of Green ultimate goal is that these requirements for certification, namely the absence of harmful chemicals/ingredients as well as all packaging/containers being preferably bio-degradable, will become obsolete and all products will become safe for humans and earth friendly!
We wish to motivate companies to sell products that are free of harmful chemicals, and are placed into a container,which after its use by us, the consumers, is recycled into a container that is refilled with the same product, and so complete the CIRCLE OF GREEN!
